Even though I had access to the soundboard I elected to record using a room mic to fully capture the ambiance of the band playing in a bowling alley while other people actually bowled. Don't worry, it wasn't that noisy. This was a duckpin bowling with the smaller pins and even smaller balls, a sport that originated in the Baltimore area. The sound was terrfic though as I hope this recording attests. Tracks 5 thru 9 are new songs yet to recorded by the band who are planning on going into the studio in Tuscon, AZ next month.

Steve Wynn - Seidel's Bowling Alley, Baltimore, 05-28-05
The recording on this concert is quite a feat. As the guy who did it intended, it captures the ambiance of the venue, a duckpin bowling alley. What's more, though, every note from every instrument comes through clearly.
This a solid performance by a remarkable band. Virtuoso lead guitar/feedback artist, and Steve Wynn isn't bad on guitar himself, but it's the drums and bass that really set the group apart. It takes Steve the first two or three songs to find his voice but he doesn't have to be in perfect form when he's tossing off lines as good ad the ones he writes.
